Why We Built KoreShield: Securing the New Intelligence Layer

The Paradigm Shift in Security Infrastructure

For the last two decades, enterprise security was structurally straightforward: build a perimeter, inspect the packets, lock down the endpoints, and manage identity. If a payload contained known malware signatures or originated from a blacklisted IP, you blocked it.

But with the rapid adoption of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI, that deterministic perimeter has completely evaporated.

Today, the payload isn't a malicious binary; it's natural language. A perfectly valid English sentence, typed by an authorized user, can trick an AI agent into dropping tables, exfiltrating sensitive PII, or hallucinating harmful actions. Traditional WAFs (Web Application Firewalls) and DLP (Data Loss Prevention) scanners don't speak LLM. They look for SQL syntax and predictable patterns, completely blind to semantic manipulation and prompt injection.

As CTO, when I looked at the security landscape for companies racing to build AI applications, I realized we were about to hit a massive wall. Enterprises want the power of AI, but they cannot accept the catastrophic risk of an unconstrained intelligence layer operating with access to their private data.

That is why we built KoreShield.
